Talk about a long day! I didn't go to sleep last night because I am a great procrastinator and decided to wait to pack till the morning of my departure.
Unfortunately, I had misread my itinerary and expected to be leaving Lubbock at 8:30. Around 3 am I decided to check my layovers and discovered I was departing at 6:55! I scrambled to pack and attempted to clean. It didn't really help.
After all I got my stuff together, said an extremely sad goodbye to Newbie and headed to Manhattan.
I am just now getting to my building, way later than I had expected. I had two flight delays, one in Dallas and one in Washington, both in the airport and in the air. We circled New Jersey for about 30 minutes after waiting in the plane an hour. Both flights were delayed because of the weather for both trips was horribly crazy.
None of my flights were able to serve drinks or anything. People had to stay seated the whole time. I fell asleep often despite the turbulence.
So I am getting my room sorted out now. I am excited to be here. The view coming in was amazing. The Statue of Liberty looked tiny, but it was really cool to see from the air. Manhattan looks fun and Brooklyn and Queens were interesting drives.
I'm glad to be here and am looking forward to passing out to sleep. I have a really long day tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that...
So, goodnight to you all. I will be sure to keep you updated.
